DIY All-Natural Pumpkin Preserver Spray
Ingredients
- Carved-out pumpkin
- Spray bottle
- 2oz Water
- 2oz Witch hazel
- 15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 15 drops Immune Strength Essential Oil
Method
Preserve your pumpkin efficiently by making sure you remove all the insides of your pumpkin, such as seeds, pulp, and more, before using this spray.
Mix your water, witch hazel, Peppermint oil, and Immune Strength blend in a spray bottle. Shake well before spraying the inside and outside of your pumpkin. Make sure you coat the inside of your pumpkin well with this spray for the best efficiency.
Let your pumpkin dry in a cool, shaded place. Inside your home or even inside your fridge would be the best options.
Essential oils used:
Peppermint Essential Oil
- Peppermint oil will help keep your carved-out pumpkin fresh through the fall months. It will help keep it from wilting and losing its shape. It will also help keep bugs like spiders away which will help avoid pumpkin rot and decay.
Immune Strength Blend
- A great spicy yet cleansing fall scent, this blend will help keep bacteria away while also making your pumpkin and your home smell like fall!
Tips to get your Fall pumpkin to last longer
- Use this spray daily to make your pumpkin last longer. This will help prevent mold and mildew from building up on your pumpkin.
- Avoid using real candles to light up your carved-out pumpkin. Instead, opt for fake electric candles, fairy lights, glowsticks, or flashlights.
- Keep your pumpkin indoors in a shaded and dry area.
- Keep it out of sunlight as much as possible. It is also best to keep it away from heat as heat will make it spoil faster.
- Put your pumpkin somewhere cool or cold to preserve your pumpkin as best as possible. A great idea would be to leave your pumpkin in the fridge overnight, then take it out during the day when guests come over.
